The font is bold without shadow, but I don’t change it in any way. I just change its color from white to black (to be better visible on colored background). Technically the font is the same as the font used when you just select destop item.
Why not make it look exactly like it used to look pre-Mavericks? See attached image.
Me personally, it looks very weird in TotalFinder with the bold font
