TF 1.5.6 update asks for Password in Sparkle dialog ( "Unlock" button )

Noticed the problem was also reported in TT, and presumably the same Sparkle code is used for TT and TF. Since the TF bug fix list specifically mentioned it as fixed, thought I should mention it isn’t. This is OS X 10.9. If appropriate, feel free to merge with the TT bug and close this as a duplicate.

I just updated from 1.5.2 to 1.5.6 and the update asked me for a password. This has never happened before. I used a blank password and it worked.

This is OS X 10.9, iMac Mid 2007, 6 GB RAM. And also on a MacBook Pro Retina, Mid 2012, OS X 10.9, 16 GB RAM.

It was fixed in 1.5.4. So the fix is present in 1.5.6. But the change will be effective since next sparkle update, because now you were updating from 1.5.2 which still has the bug.

The update asked for my password, why?

When I launched total terminal today it informed me of the update. Once it downloaded it, I got a dialog saying the installer was locked by a password. This was not the OS dialog for username and password, it was a total terminal dialog that ONLY asked for a password. Then as you would normally expect the app installer later asked me for the admin username and password. Why was I asked by the app for a password? (Not the system prompt for admin, just the first one) Did I get dooped here? Did th…
