TotalFinder Pegging One Core of CPU

The Bug

While running TotalFinder 1.5.27, one of my CPU cores is pegged to 100% usage. When TotalFinder is running, the Finder process jumps from utilizing 0.0% of my CPU to 67.1% of my CPU.

Attempted Fix

I’ve attempted to fix the issue by uninstalling, and then reinstalling the software. However, this led to my experiencing the exact same issue.

My Specs

Computer: 13" Macbook Pro (late 2012)
CPU: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
OS: OS X 10.9.2

Anyone have any idea what’s going on?

Haven’t seen complains about CPU for a long time.

You could try Activity Monitor and sample Finder.app process. This could give us some hints.

Also disabling FoldersOnTop feature, or some others could help pinpoint which feature caused this CPU load.

I’ve enabled and then disabled Folders on Top. Enabling it fixes the CPU issue, and disabling it keeps it fixed until restart. I’ve attached a sampling from the process from before I had Folders on Top on, while it was on, and after it was disabled again.

After Folders on Top

Just an idea. Could it be folder size calculation or app size calculation of many objects in list view?
