Screen goes dark momentarily, when displaying overview grid

Sometimes when I use a hot key [F8] to display the overview grid, the display goes black for a second before it displays the grid. It’s unexpected and somewhat disturbing. It doesn’t happen every time.

I have 2 x 3 grid, and use ‘Lo res’ background in the overview grid with ‘Whole grid zoom’.

It’s actually because the transition graphics have not rendered quickly enough. I may be able to reduce this by adjusting the timings - I have occasionally seen the same on my machine.

Yes, that would be nice. TotalSpace2 has been working smoothly for me so far. I think any aspect that draws the user’s attention away from the task at hand and to the application itself should, ideally, be minimized.
