Feature Request: move window to specific position hotkeys

Right now, there’s two different schemes for changing spaces with hotkeys:

  • Hotkeys (usually modifier and arrow key) to change to an adjacent space.
  • Hotkeys to change to a specific space.

However, there’s only one way to move the current window to a different space:

  • Hotkeys (usually modifier and arrow key) to move the window to an adjacent space.

Might it be possible to add that other hotkey option to move a window to a specific space, rather than strictly an adjacent one?

Thanks!

I might add hotkeys, but my current plan to add this feature via the menu. So you would open the TS menu, hold a modifier, then each of the Spaces will change to “Move current window to…”

What do you think?

Interesting, but wouldn’t help that much with my situation personally - I almost never use the menu and lean heavily on hotkeys, and was hoping for a way to move windows to specific spaces without having to use the mouse.

Hope this helps!

Second hotkeys, another hotkeys-addict here

Alright, thanks for the feedback. I can already visualize how this will work in the Preferences UI, but it will take some work.

I will probably start by adding these methods to the API, then you could bind shortcuts to these API calls using any number of apps. Stay tuned.
