I constantly work on keeping my menu bar uncluttered, but I often need to reference the TotalSpaces menu bar icon to see which desktop I’m on. It would be nice if we had the option to overlay the desktop number on the desktop itself while keeping the menu bar icon hidden. I now use different desktop pictures for each desktop, but sometimes when I’m busy I still forget which picture is on which desktop. I’ve gone the extra measure of editing in a 144 pt. numeral onto each desktop picture (1, 2, 3…) in the lower left corner of each desktop picture. It would be really cool if TotalSpaces would do that for me.
I’m really spoiled by TotalSpaces. It makes OS X’s multi-desktop environment infinitely more usable.
