How to Delete App Assignments Owned by MacOS?

In the Apps tab of TS3 Preferences is a list of app “Assignments owned by macOS…but cannot be changed here.” These assignments appear to be carried over from previous versions of Mission Control on previous versions of MacOS. How can these assignments be deleted?

The somewhat-laborious way of doing this is as follows:

For any app that is telling you that macOS owns it, do this:

  1. Launch the app
  2. Down in the dock, find the application and RIGHT-click on it.
  3. In the contextual menu that appears, select Options. You will see an “Assign To” section at the bottom. Choose “None” and that should remove the “ownership.”
