I have noticed an issue when you open Time Machine with TotalFinder. I had to uninstall total finder to get time machine to work properly.
Interesting, I have to check this again under Mavericks.
btw. your don’t have to uninstall TotalFinder next time. Just restart Finder without TotalFinder via CMD+OPT+ESC. When you are done, you can launch TotalFinder again (much faster).
CMD+OPT+ESC does not do anything… it just makes the screen go black… ??? I still have major issues with total finder… please fix
CMD+OPT+ESC should bring same dialog which you get by clicking on apple icon in the main menu and selecting “Force Quit…” item.

Force Quit doesn’t work for me as well. I had to go to Finder, Total Finder and restart Finder. Which gives me regular Finder, then double click the Total Finder app. On Mavericks, TF 10.9.1.
I can’t navigate with Total Finder in Enter Time Machine - there is a problem. I have to nuke Total Finder and use ordinary Finder to ‘Enter Time Machine’.

Well, if regular Finder does not work with Time Machine, then problem is not in TotalFinder.
Do you see any error messages in Console.app?

Ok, something is wrong with it. I assume you posted log from plain Finder.app (without TotalFinder running).
Please try to create a new user via System Preferences -> Users & Groups, log under that new user and try it again with plain Finder. I wonder if it exhibits the same problems.
