Recovery mode locked in work laptop - can't disable SIP

I’ve been using TotalSpaces for the past 5 years and can’t live without it . Recently, I got a new laptop at work and I think IT has put a password on Recovery Mode (I restarted my macbook, hold command + R, and I just get a screen with a lock and password on it).

Is there a way to disable SIP without being able to get into recovery mode? Or am I at the mercy of IT?

Thanks
