Replacing Location icons with TotalFinder

Hi,

I have successfully implemented custom icons for my Finder sidebar folder and I would like to extend that to my LOCATIONS generic drive icons. Anyone here could post the Plist code to make that happen please. My external drive is called HD830 , if you could include that in the sample it is appreciated. Can follow script but not familiar with it

You mentioned that you successfully implemented custom icons for my Finder sidebar… I wonder if you’re on Big Sur. If so, can you share how did you implement custom icons in the Finder sidebar?

Custom Drive Icons In Sidebar

Yes it is very possible, have a browse thru this forum it is well documented. It needs you to edit a PLIST file which TF reads on start up and gives you the custom icons you allocate in the PLIST (ie paths to icons). It is a bit of a ‘hack’ but it works as advertised, and once you set you forget.

Ok thanks. I looked it up but it looks like I need to specify each folder icon manually. I have several dozens of my own custom icons for my projects so it would be a daunting task. I’ll wait until the developer implements custom icons on Big Sur.
