"Stuck" Finder window in center of screen

Lately I’ve been getting this weird issue where I get a finder window (always the downloads window) that shows up in the center of the screen but I can not interact with it. If I change things in the downloads folder, this window reflects that, but otherwise it just sits there and does nothing. I’ve found that I can recreate it by unzipping a file that is in the downloads folder. However unzipping a file that’s in another folder does not produce the same results. Relaunching the finder clears the window until I launch totalfinder and do it again.

So I’m not sure where the issue is coming from, and it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it is kind of annoying. Here’s an image of what I’m talking about:

I was having this problem and @darwin suggested the following:

Please test another tweak (with Tabs plugin enabled):
defaults write com.apple.finder TotalFinderDontRestoreTabsState -bool yes

I executed that command in the Terminal and the problem went away. Good luck.

Thanks! That appears to have fixed it. Now to tackle some of those bugs in other apps that drive me crazy.
