I hope it’s OK to bring up this product here. The rival app XtraFinder just became available to work in Monterey. That’s quite a surprise. It’s not clear if it will work on an M1 Mac. Disclaimer: I’m not associated with this product in any way. I’m just a user.
Thanks for the heads up. I just briefly tried it and it does not work for me on an M1 (but the docs seem to claim that it works without some features).
Anyone able to run it on an M1 Mac?
I can confirm that XtraFinder 1.7 DOES NOT work on the M1, M1 Pro, or M1 Max. This was tested with a fresh install on a MacBook Pro (M1, 13-inch, 2020), MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021) with both the M1 Pro and M1 Max.
I’m trying a few different things, but it does not look like it will work, even if they say it will.
Thanks for the investigation, what a shame. I miss the dual pane window within Finder. I could live without the features the docs claim don’t work on M1. One to keep an eye on… may be he is close !!
It DOES work on a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018) that is Intel. Works just it always has. Seems to be an issue within the M1 architecture that causes the failure.
I doesn’t work on M1
