Time Machine Problem with Total Finder?

TF 10.9.1 on Mavericks. This is a repeatable problem.
Total Finder is on.

  1. Notice the focus in the side bar - be on All My Files
  2. Enter Time Machine
  3. One can’t use the side bar to navigate to files for example in Documents or Apps etc.

Cancel TM

  1. Put the focus on Documents in side bar
  2. Enter Time Machine
  3. One CAN use the side bar to navigate.

But the same is true of plain Finder. Is this as designed behaviour?
