I am using Yosemite beta 5 and find that TotalFinder is interfering with emptying of the trash can.
This will occur whether emptying the trash can by right clicking on the can to empty or when also holding the option key.
If I restart Finder from the TF menubar folder icon, I find that the trash can will empty without a problem.
