After every restart it’s working fine, then after few minutes of doing few simple things it unresponsive and I have to switch to my custom double char shortcut, this one is always good. How to fix this, please?
Is it possible that something is blocking it?

I looked at the code and didn’t spot any obvious problem.
So you are saying that CMD+CMD stops working.
What about trying OPT+OPT, does it also stop working after a while?
When it stops working, do you have focus to some other app or it stops working while having activated Finder/TotalFinder (there are two different code paths for these two cases).
I’ve had the same problem on Mojave for quite a while. The shortcut works after a restart but it always stops working after a short time. I tried changing the shortcut, but it didn’t make a difference.

This problem is back for me on multiple machines. The CMD-CMD works for a few minutes, then stops working and I have to revert to the custom shortcut I assigned. Once this happens, none of the other double key (OPT-OPT, CTRL-CTRL etc) combos work either.
