macOS Big Sur and TotalFinder

Looks fine so far
only thing is the rounded corners of TF at the bottom, but that can wait until apple is finished with
their overhoul of ICONS and UI.

Tested all except Visor & I’m happy.

Thanks to the TF TEAM !! :-))

I spent some time trying to make the rounded corners at the bottom but without success so far. I gave it low priority for now, but I will return to it eventually.

By the way, I’m thinking about hiring some graphics designer to create colored sidebar icons in Big Sur style… So that Colorful Sidebar feature is useable when enabled.

Just by chance. If you knew about someone who would like this gig, please let me know in support@binaryage.com. Thanks.

No worries, as I said, let’s wait until apple is finished.

Just tested VISOR, with the shortcut keys and it works fine for me in catalina 10.15.7 and 11 public beta 9.

public Beta 9 VMware VM

I just made new user account and YES the visor worked.
But I cannot figure out what is interferring with keyboard. I have tried to disable any app except TF in “Screen recording”, “input monitoring” and “full disk access” in privacy settings. Is there any way to find the cause?

Maybe try two more things under your main account:

  1. try to reset Finder and TotalFinder into factory defaults: https://gist.github.com/darwin/804d06733194f201a595c0dbbf8130ea
  2. try to reset all App Permissons via tccutil reset All: https://apple.stackexchange.com/a/344086/8730

Just FYI, I’m leaving for the weekend. Maybe will extend my stay until Wednesday next week. So my respones here will be probably less frequent.

Thanks for your understanding and have a nice weekend.

Already done both, still the same. How to completely uninstall totalfinder?
Because I also see difference in tabs layout between current and ‘clean’ user account. Will try to completely uninstall and reinstall

Gosh, it actually works, I just forgot to enable the visor again after reset all settings LOL

Thanks Darwin!

EDIT:
I see that it is interferring with window manager like Magnet or Spectacle, even if there are no similar shortcuts being used.

Darwin, Totalfinder 1.13.2 stopped to load after I installed bigsur beta 10 today. I tried 1.13.3 but still it does not work. Any recommendation is appreciated

@Dogan, do you see any Finder/TotalFinder crash reports in Console.app -> Crash Reports?

Also you could try to run TotalFinder diagnostics script and send me the results back to support@binaryage.com, I should be able to troubleshoot it with you over email:
https://gist.github.com/darwin/aad9b3f0eca7761c3e72d13e85496134

thanks,

There is no crash report for Totalfinder in Console.app -> Crash Reports section. I am sending the diagnostic results to your email. Thanks

‘Go To Folder’ produces a greyed out dialog (see screenshot) - only way out is to hit escape but then it does n to go to the required folder…

TotalFinder 1.13.3 works for me on public Beta 10 in a VMware VM on macOS Catalina!

Seems the greyed out dialog may be similar to an issue I just reported:

@jmaynard I can confirm this issue too

Hi @darwin , that’s fantastic news! I was hoping that colorful Sidebar icons could be introduced to TotalFinder, as this is one of the very few features I’m still missing greatly from XtraFinder.

One more question: Is it just me, or does the “Pin Visor” feature not work yet at the moment (except when “Show on top of the Dock” is enabled as well)? Thanks again for everything you do.

yepp, having this issue too.
the dark or milky overlay is on the wrong layer position, maybe supposed to be behind the popup I guess…
