I finally moved to XtraFinder. Looks like this is maintained. It’s still not the same as TotalFinder, but it works. I cannot use software that is not maintained and the developer does not care about.
Also on Sequoia 15.4.1.
Navigate to \Users\home(whatever your home folder is called )\Library\Preferences and open com.binaryage.totalfinder.plist
Turn on (1) / off (2) features of your choice.
XtraFinder has always had some appeal. Esp with the on and off of the TF maintainance. However. The current maintainer (@akemin_dayo) was never the original developer and had no obligation to continue working on this project.
A lot of features DO work and is still very usable imo for what I use it for and what I need. (obviously not everybody uses the same features, so results may vary).
We don’t know what happens in peoples lives and how things work out. So for an assumption that the person “does not care” is unjustifiable.
Today I updated from Sonoma to Sequoia 15,6. Flawless, Total Finder workes like before, SIP was still disabled. Just Total Finder settings are inaccessable.
IconChamp 1.51 workes great. I just resettet the icons (in IconChamp settings) and applied them new.
Installed Tahoe Beta 3. Totalfinder is still working! Setting are unacessable.
But sidebar icons are colored, and labels on folders look better than ever before, because the folder color is the same as the label. Amazing. Sidebar and labels are my main areas of focus.
Iconchamp 1.51 is no longer working.
