Time Machine is working again in DP7, but not when TotalFinder is active.

Any fix yet for the user folders (Pictures,Documents, etc.) not being able to have their icon changed in the sidebar ? It just stays the same blue folder icon even though it shows a different icon in “Get Info”

TotalFinder 1.6.10 with support for Yosemite DP7 and DP8:

@gingerbeardman I have tested Time Machine under Yosemite DP8 with TotalFinder running and it worked for me. Could you re-test it with TF 1.6.10 and share more details? Thanks.

I noticed this a build or so ago but Finder has an odd habit of blanking out a selected item in List view. It doesn’t happen all the time, and I can’t find anything in common between the items that it happens to. Clicking to another item works as normal, and often clicking back to the original item works as normal too.

I’m on 1.6.10 and Yosemite 14A361c.

For some reason, clicking the Finder icon in the doc doesn’t switch me to Finder, nor does it open a window. I can right click the Finder icon and choose New Finder Window

Also, right clicking any app in the dock and choosing Options > Show in Finder does not open a Finder window when it should.

Running a totally fresh Yosemite Beta 3 install and latest pre-release TotalFinder.

Ugh. A reboot seems to have solved this. My bad :frowning:

TotalFinder worked for me on 10.10 Beta 1. Did a fresh install of Beta 2 (upgraded from Mavericks) and install said TotalFinder was not compatible. Application was uninstalled on Beta 2 upgrade. Downloaded most recent TotalFinder which said it was compatible with 10.10 and I could install it but it would not work. Now working on a fresh install of Beta 3 (upgraded from latest Mavericks) and am having the same issue. TotalFinder 1.6.2 which said it works with 10.10 was found incompatible on Beta upgrade and application no longer on computer. Downloaded 1.6.2 and installed it and again it will not work. Thoughts?

@surfari Please stick with the latest betas under Yosemite: http://totalfinder.binaryage.com/beta-changes#latest

Darwin, thank you I tried v1.6.10 beta and it works! But why does the TotalFinder home page say that v1.6.2 works with 10.10? They should change that as it is very misleading and disappointing when it doesn’t work.

@surfari good point. It used to be compatible, but it broke with recent Yosemite builds and I didn’t update the homepage since. I have just dropped the Yosemite mention on the homepage[1]

I’m running PB3, with TotalFinder 1.6.10 - all seems well except for a wee problem with the Visor. After each reboot, I need to toggle the Visor setting off then on again in order to get it working. As I don’t reboot that often, It isn’t too much of a problem, but thought I should mention it.

Just updated to the newly released seed version of Yosemite (OS X 10.10 (14A379b) Beta 4 not the DP Gold Master) and TotalFinder stopped working and has been moved to the “Incompatible Software” folder (see screen-grab).

Help!

@igamogam Please install the latest beta. TotalFinder 1.6.2 was marked as incompatible by Apple.

Also switch to pre-release updates in preferences[1], I’m about to release 1.6.11 on beta channel in few hours.

Thanks, I’ve done that and despite the Visor not working initially it works now with 1.6.11. I had to toggle the Visor double option activation command but after switching it back on again it works.

I had the pre-release update turned on but I guess I was too eager to update.

Once again, thanks a lot!

Configure toolbar popover obscures menu bar which means with TotalFinder enabled I find it impossible/difficult to configure the toolbar icons.

Moving window using drag on toolbar area (red area) still results in very laggy/slow performance, compared to moving via drag in tab area (green area) which is silky smooth.

Also, custom app icon added to toolbar is not aligned in TotalFinder:

Compare to standard Finder:

The same problem occurs for me with the visor in TF V 1.6.12. After updating the visor stops working until you turn the Visor activation checkbox off then back on again. A bug perhaps?

Yosemite Beta 5 and 1.6.12 also broke the visor feature for me. Good thing that I read Igamogam post and following those instructions was able to have it back. I have another machine with beta 5 and 1.6.11 and the visor still works.

Have since updated to beta 6 and the same problem with the Visor :frowning:

UPDATE: In fact I have just noticed that I have to toggle the visor feature every time I log in to my user account. Double :frowning:
